I have always had an interest in what was going on in my community. I have always considered it a luxury for people that are paid to keep an eye on the local elected officials, or those with a lot of free time on their hands.
Well, despite the fact that I fall in neither of those categories, I am going to try my hand at being more involved.
Probably there was no moment that my previous lack of connection with the community was more pronounced than when I participated in the most recent election, and I found myself trying to decide who to vote for in local elections, based on name and occupation.
